A Little About Me

My Practice
My work is grounded in deep, thoughtful therapy and in building a real, human relationship. I don’t see therapy as fixing or correcting you. I see it as a space where you can come to know yourself more honestly and fully. In our work together, I help you slow down, listen inwardly, and see yourself as you are — not as you “should” be. We explore how you meet the world, what matters to you, and how your unique personality responds to life’s demands. From this clearer understanding, change becomes possible. I support you in finding ways to live that fit your core self. The aim is not to become someone else, but to live more authentically as yourself — so that, over time, you can say: this is my life, I am the author of it, and it reflects my values. I work best with people who are open to depth, reflection, and meaning — people who want more than symptom relief, and who are interested in understanding themselves, developing an inner compass, and living with greater clarity and responsibility.
What I'm Like
My style as a therapist is warm, collaborative, and supportive. I don’t work in a directive or authoritative way — therapy with me is something we explore together. I’m attentive and engaged, and I take your experience seriously, while staying flexible and responsive to what emerges in the moment. I do bring humour into sessions when it feels right. Therapy can be deep and meaningful without feeling heavy all the time. I value a sense of openness, curiosity, and exploration, rather than a feeling of hard or forced work — even though real work is happening. With me, you don’t have to hold yourself together or censor your thoughts. You can say things out loud that you may have never said before — even things you’re afraid to admit to yourself. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, met, and supported as you explore your inner world at your own pace.

What Can You Expect From My Sessions

In my sessions, you can expect a balance between structure and openness. I don’t follow a rigid agenda, but I do hold a clear therapeutic direction. Sessions are guided by what feels most alive and relevant for you in the moment, while keeping your broader themes and intentions in mind. The work is often explorative. We slow things down, pay attention to your experience, and stay curious about what shows up — thoughts, feelings, reactions, and patterns. From this exploration, insight and movement naturally emerge. When it feels helpful, we also clarify goals or next steps together, always in a way that feels realistic and grounded for you. I engage actively and collaboratively. I listen closely, reflect back what I notice, ask questions, and sometimes gently challenge you — not to push you, but to support deeper understanding. Therapy with me is a shared process: thoughtful, responsive, and shaped by who you are and what you need at that point in your life.

Our first session

In the first session, you can expect a lot of space for talking and questions. I’m interested in understanding what brings you to therapy, what feels difficult right now, and how you make sense of what’s happening in your life. I listen carefully — not only to what you say, but to how you say it, and to what begins to emerge between us. I don’t rush to conclusions or solutions. The first session is more about getting a sense of what’s there — for you, and for me — and beginning to form an understanding together. Often people arrive with a clear idea of what they want to talk about, and just as often something unexpected shows up instead. I make room for that. Rather than forcing a plan, I give space to what is present and alive in the moment. By the end of the session, we usually have a clearer picture of what feels important to focus on and whether working together feels like a good fit.
