A Little About Me
My Practice
My approach to therapy is grounded in presence, compassion, and awareness. I see healing and growth as non-linear processes; moments of stagnation, confusion, or even feeling worse can hold important meaning when we slow down and notice what is happening. Insight alone is often not enough; what matters is becoming aware, in the moment, of emotions, bodily sensations, and patterns as they unfold.
From a Gestalt perspective, awareness is what opens space for choice and change.
I view the therapeutic relationship as a mix of collaboration and guidance. I work alongside clients, respecting their pace, while offering structure when it feels helpful. Creating a space where clients feel heard and understood is central to my work, even when sessions involve challenging emotions or topics.
What I'm Like
I am generally reflective and observant in sessions, intervening when something feels important to clarify, deepen, or bring into awareness. My style is warm and grounding, and clients often describe my questions as thoughtful and meaningful, helping them see things from a new perspective.
I may use humor at times when it feels appropriate, while remaining attentive to the context and emotional depth of the session. When emotional intensity arises, I focus on staying calm and grounded myself, offering validation and reflection so clients can feel safe and understood.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
Sessions are mostly open and explorative rather than rigidly structured. We may work through dialogue, reflection, or experiential exercises depending on what emerges and what feels relevant in the moment. I pay close attention to recurring patterns, moments of avoidance, and emotional shifts, and I often work through questions and reflections that invite deeper awareness.
The pace of sessions is usually slow and reflective, allowing space for meaning to unfold naturally rather than pushing toward quick solutions. Goals can be explored and clarified over time, in collaboration with the client.
Our first session
The first session is focused on getting to know you and creating a sense of safety. I take time to explain how therapy works and to normalize feelings such as nervousness, hesitation, or uncertainty, especially if this is your first experience with therapy.
I am transparent about the process: therapy can sometimes feel challenging, tiring, confusing, or deeply clarifying, and at other times it may feel subtle or quiet. My role is to accompany you, help you develop awareness, and support you as you make your own choices over time. We usually end the first session by checking in about how the experience felt and discussing next steps if you wish to continue.
